Psalm 55:16-19 “But I call to God, and the LORD saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice. He ransoms me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me. God, who is enthroned forever, will hear them and afflict them–men who never change their ways and have no fear of God.”
Psalm 62:5-8 “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.”
Micah 7:18-20 “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of His inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; You will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. You will be true to Jacob, and show mercy to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our fathers in days long ago.”
Truly, who is a God like our God????? Can anyone else’s God compare to ours?

I will remember today’s reading for a long time!
MY THOUGHTS TROUBLE ME…Psalm 44:2
What are your thoughts at 2:00 in the morning???
Troubling thoughts? I have them.
FLIGHT…Psalm 55:6 – “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.”
55:7 “I would flee far away and stay in the desert.” 55:8 “I would hurry to my place of shelter.” Wonder where we flee from our troubling thoughts. Where is your place of shelter from the storms of life?
BETRAYED…Psalm 55:13 – David says that his close friend insulted him. It has probably happened to us all at one time or another. It happened to me—so what do I do with that?
David says: 55:17 “Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress and He hears my voice.” That is what He is drawing me to do.
It is not about fleeing our troubles
NO FLIGHT or FIGHT…
Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and HE will sustain. 55:23 “But as for me, I trust in YOU.”
FAINTING…Psalm 61:2 I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I am. 61:4 I long to take refuge in the shelter of your wings. 62:2 My soul finds REST in God alone. 62:5 My hope comes from HIM. 62:8 “Trust in HIM at all times; pour out your hearts to HIM.” And then, the verse I’ll probably remember for a long long time….
Psalm 62:11,12
ONE THING God spoke
TWO THINGS I heard
YOU, O GOD, ARE STRONG.
YOU, O GOD, ARE LOVING
No matter what.
Also, II Samuel 18:10 when they found Absalom hanging in an oak tree, it reminded me of David’s words that he would take care of a stranger so that no hair on their head was harmed but he wouldn’t take care of his own son whose hair was caught and Absalom was now being harmed by David’s men. Failure on David’s part to care for his disobedient son.
